Amy Biersteker and Lisa Horn earn CEPA certification

WISCONSIN – Schenck SC is pleased to announce Amy Biersteker, CEPA, MSE, business strategist, and Lisa Horn, CEPA, business strategist, recently earned the Certified Exit Planning Advisor designation after completing the Exit Planning Institute’s intensive four-day CEPA program in Atlanta, Georgia. 

Biersteker and Horn join an elite group of business advisors who have received this designation and are a part of the Exit Planning Institute’s international community of CEPAs. The CEPA program is the most widely accepted and endorsed program in the world.

The Certified Exit Planning Advisor program was specifically designed for business advisors who work closely with owners of privately held companies. Using an executive MBA-style format, the program is designed around a central methodology and uses a combination of lectures, group discussions, case studies and individual exercises to introduce participants to the concepts and to reinforce skills. The program is taught by the Exit Planning Institute’s dedicated faculty of 15 instructors, who are all sought-after subject matter experts and authors. 

To receive the CEPA designation, participants completed approximately 100 hours of pre-course study and 30 hours of classroom instruction, and successfully completed a three-hour proctored examination. 

​Biersteker has more than 20 years of experience working with organizations to develop leaders and their teams. She guides business leaders through the business lifecycle ensuring that the culture of the business is in alignment with the vision and strategic direction.

​Biersteker holds a Master of Science in Education with an emphasis in counseling and bachelor’s degrees in human services and professional leadership, as well as psychology, from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. She is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management and Fox Valley SHRM.

Horn has nearly 20 years of experience leading continuous improvement initiatives in a variety of industries, including manufacturing and health care. She advises senior leaders on strategy and aligns their vision, mission and goals to effectively execute plans that drive organizational success. She is skilled in a number of targeted capacities, such as strategy deployment, value stream thinking and mapping, problem solving and change management.

Horn holds a Bachelor of Arts in business from Lakeland University and a nursing degree from Confederation College in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. She holds a number of certifications, including a Lean Manufacturing Certification from the University of Michigan and an IDEO Innovation Certification, among others. Horn is a member of the Association for Talent Development.
