Consolidated Construction Builds New Frozen Storage Facility for Central Storage & Warehouse Co.

The building is located in Caledonia, Wisconsin, with completion slated by the end of 2018

(Nov. 8, 2018) Appleton, Wis.Consolidated Construction Co. Inc., a full-service design/build firm headquartered in Appleton, Wisconsin, has begun construction of a new 115,000-square-foot frozen storage facility in Caledonia, Wisconsin, for Central Storage & Warehouse Co. (CSW).

Madison-based CSW is the premier provider of temperature-controlled warehouse services in Wisconsin. The new facility being built south of Milwaukee off Interstate 94 will be used primarily for food storage. The state-of-the-art building will incorporate computer-controlled refrigeration, cool-roof technology, an energy-saving dock design and high-efficiency insulation to minimize environmental impact. The new facility will operate at zero degrees Fahrenheit.

CSW CEO John Winegarden noted strong demand from area food manufacturers and distributors led to the company’s decision to add to its existing network of warehouses in Wisconsin and Illinois. “We are proud to have earned the reputation as supply chain experts in the Milwaukee and Chicago-area food industry, and we look forward to continuing to help our customers grow their businesses with this expanded service capacity.” He also praised Consolidated Construction for their role in the process. “We have done several building projects with Consolidated, and I’m consistently amazed by their responsiveness during construction, the smooth integration of their crews and subcontractors and the efficiency with which their projects come together.”

Site work began in early June, and the new space is expected to be operational by the end of the calendar year and employ 1012 people. Curtis Schroeder of Consolidated Construction is the architect of record on the project.
