Local Charities Tie and Share $18,500 Winnings at 2015 First Business Invitational for Charity

July 30, 2015
Brookfield, WI First Business Bank – Milwaukee, a member of the First Business family of companies (Nasdaq: FBIZ), is pleased to announce that two local charities won its second annual First Business Golf Invitational for Charity. The two winners, Meta House and Milwaukee Rescue Mission, will each receive a check for $9,250 thanks to the local business leaders who participated and won the Greater Milwaukee Area First Business Invitational for Charity golf event on July 27.

The First Business Invitational is a forum where local business leaders compete for a local charity of their choice. The event was designed with two person teams competing in a best ball format. First Business covers 100 percent of the event costs. The event is a winner-take-all format in which the charity of the winning team receives all proceeds from the entry fees.  The teams representing Meta House and Milwaukee Rescue Mission elected to forego a sudden death playoff and instead split the winnings between the two charities.

"We are thrilled to be giving the winnings to these two great charities," said Dave Vetta, President & CEO of First Business Bank - Milwaukee. "It is all about the charities here, so it’s wonderful to have the two teams wanting to share the winnings."

The Meta House is a nonprofit organization located in Milwaukee, which offers substance abuse treatment services to help women reclaim their lives from the effects of drugs or alcohol. The two playing on behalf of Meta House were Mary Wendt and Greg Schultheis.
Mary Wendt said, "We are so excited for Meta House to have won, they do absolutely wonderful things for women and their families, and we’re excited we were able to support them."

"It is with utmost gratitude that we congratulate Mary Wendt and Greg Schultheis on winning in honor of Meta House. Winnings will go directly to fund the programs critical to helping women overcome addiction and rebuild their families,” said Amy Lindner, President & CEO of Meta House. “We are so grateful that First Business acknowledges the great need that exists in our community and commend them for making an impact on Meta House and other worthy causes with this opportunity."

Milwaukee Rescue Mission is a nonprofit organization that provides shelter, food, education, and training to help the homeless in the Milwaukee area. The two playing on behalf of Milwaukee Rescue Mission were John Beagle and Tim Oleszczuk of Grace Matthews, Inc.
"What an amazing event!" says John Beagle of Grace Matthews, Inc.  "By getting together a group of business leaders representing high quality charities, it’s a great combination of competition and fun."

Tim Oleszczuk added, "It was a great opportunity to do this competition with the winners being the charities."

Patrick Vanderburgh, Executive Director of Milwaukee Rescue Mission said, “We are so proud of John and Tim! We appreciate their friendship and commitment to the Milwaukee Rescue Mission. These winnings will be extremely helpful in serving the homeless and hungry in Milwaukee. Thank you!”

The First Business Invitational started in 2011, since its inception, over $210,000 has been raised for local charities. 2015 marks the second year for the event in the Greater Milwaukee Area.
