Three Pillars 2019 Fundraising Gala Huge Success

May 07, 2019
Dousman, Wis. May 2, 2019—Three Pillars Senior Living Communities held their first ever Fundraising Gala, An Evening of Music and Memories, on Friday, April 26, 2019 at the Marriott Milwaukee West.
The goal of the event was to raise money for the creation of dementia-friendly communities.
A dementia-friendly community is one that recognizes the need for a person with dementia to stay engaged in the community activities they enjoy and continue to live a rich life. This focus tackles issues associated with dementia on a broad basis, which includes not only the Three Pillars campus, but also southeastern Wisconsin.

President and CEO Mark Strautman was grateful for the turnout, “We believe people with dementia should remain included, engaged, respected, and connected. Nearly 300 people who attended agreed, and it’s an encouraging sign that we’re on to something. As a society, it’s critical we understand the impact dementia has not only on the individual, but also the families, loved ones, caregivers, and the surrounding community. Millions of American’s struggle with this disease and the numbers continue to rise. I couldn’t be happier with the response from our community.”

Chief Development Officer, Jane Olisar, was overwhelmed at the response, “I’m so grateful for our sponsors and all those that attended the event, along with some of our residents, donors, and staff who helped make this happen. We raised in excess of $30,000 for this important work, and we’re just getting started. We have a lot to do, but thanks to the generosity on display Friday night I’m excited to see what’s next.”
