UWM at Waukesha Field Station to hold Fall Fest

UWM at Waukesha Field Station to Hold Fall Fest
 
(Waukesha, Wisconsin) The University of Wisconsin Milwaukee at Waukesha Field Station will hold its Fall Fest on September 28, 2019 with free admission to a day of guided tours, displays and fun activities.
Located on Waterville Road near Oconomowoc, the 98-acre site includes the original farmstead, Wildlife in Need Center, classroom building and wood-fired kiln. The site is surrounded by ninefoot tall prairie grasses and 50-foot pine trees, along with a small lake and spring-fed stream.
In addition to self-guided tours of the Field Station, there will be guided tours of the prairie and an Art & Nature tour. Presentations include Insect Biology with UW-Madison’s Insect Ambassadors and Reestablishing Prairie Habitat at Home  
A native pollinator presentation, face painting and a scavenger hunt are just a few of the children’s activities planned.  

The Field Station’s address is W349-S1480 S. Waterville Road. Fest activities will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Field Station calendars, professional photos, shirts and raffle tickets are among the items that will be for sale. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
