Waukesha County Business Alliance Announces Power Test Inc. as #1 Business Of the Year

Waukesha, Wis. – Waukesha County Business Alliance and media sponsor and partner BizTimes Media have announced Power Test Inc. as the #1 Business of the Year.  The annual awards program recognizes companies headquartered in southeastern Wisconsin that have consistent financial growth, and demonstrate a commitment to good business practice through their employee relations, customer-focused commitment and community service involvement.
 
The announcement of the #1 Business of the Year took place at the Top 10 Businesses of the Year awards luncheon on Thursday, June 6 at the Country Springs Hotel. The luncheon featured a panel of representatives from each of the winning organizations, and Power Test Inc. was named #1 Business of the Year.
 
"Power Test is an outstanding example of the many leading companies we have in southeastern Wisconsin,” said Suzanne Kelley, president of the Waukesha County Business Alliance. “Power Test’s employee training program is an innovative approach to solving the skills gap and is supported by a strong foundation of financial growth, solid customer service and dedication to the community.”

Power Test Inc., a privately-held manufacturer, is a market leader in the design, manufacturing and sale of dynamometers, heavy equipment testing systems, related data acquisition, control systems and custom engineered testing machines. Power Test Inc. represents excellence in business management, corporate growth, employee and customer relations and a commitment to local communities.
 
In order to sustain the growth the company has experienced, Alan Petelinsek, president and chief executive officer of Power Test Inc.has instilled a culture of efficiency and change, and has developed an employee training program. He commented in the recent BizTimes article "My mentality says: grow or die, and number two: do what you must to make it better. That's what we live by here."
 
The employee training program is intended to help Power Test, and the southeast Wisconsin region, obtain the qualified, skilled workforce it needs to be successful. The company has invested in a full-time educator/trainer to recruit individuals for the program. Graduates leave with the foundational skills necessary to set up and operate manual machines, mills, saws and drill presses.
