Waukesha County Fair Makes Room at Expo Grounds for Official Walker Announcement

July 09, 2015
WAUKESHA, WI – In light of Governor Scott Walker’s plans to make his White House bid official at the Waukesha County Expo Grounds on Monday, July 13, the Waukesha County Fair Association has worked with the Expo staff to accommodate the big announcement.  The Fair Association has moved onto the grounds to prepare for the 173rd Fair, which opens Wednesday, July 15.

“Having the governor announce his candidacy in Waukesha is great for the community, and the Expo arena is the perfect place to accommodate the large crowd,” said Shari Black, Executive Director of the Waukesha County Fair. “Yes, our setup schedule has been affected, but my team will work hard and we will be ready for our Fairgoers on Wednesday afternoon.”

The Waukesha County Fair Association is a nonprofit volunteer organization that is completely separate and receives no funding from Waukesha County or the City of Waukesha. July 15 through 19, 2015 marks the 173rd anniversary of the Waukesha County Fair, the oldest fair in Wisconsin and largest event in Waukesha County.

Shari Black, Executive Director of Waukesha County Fair, is available for interviews on Monday. Please contact the Fair office, 262-544-5922, or sarah@imagemakersadv.com for scheduling or more information.
