Waukesha County Parks Seeks Lifeguards To Fill Positions, Free Training For Candidates

(WAUKESHA, WI) – Waukesha County Parks staff are seeking applicants to fill the several open positions for lifeguards at the swimming beaches at Fox Brook and Menomonee Parks. Qualified candidates will be offered a free Lifeguard Certification course as a bonus.
 
“Waukesha County’s beaches are not only a fantastic place to work, they also provide valuable work experiences that will follow employees throughout their lives,” said County Executive Paul Farrow. “I encourage individuals who love to be in the outdoors to apply, it’s a great summer job!”
 
Flexible positions are open from late-spring through late-summer with options for 20-40 hours per week at either location. Lifeguard pay starts at $9.99/hour.
 
Applicants that already hold Lifeguard Certification are encouraged to apply under the “Lifeguard” listing at www.waukeshacounty.gov/jobs. Candidates that are interested in the free Lifeguard Certification Course must also complete an online application and indicate that they are interested in the free training course. 
 
To be considered for the free Lifeguard Certification course, applicants must attend a pre-screening interview with aquatic staff and complete the pre-requisite skills required for the course.
Options for the pre-screening interviews are as follows:
  • Thursday, May 16 at 3:45 p.m.
  • Saturday, May 18 at Noon
  • Tuesday, May 21 at 3:45 p.m.
  • Tuesday, May 28 at 3:45 p.m.
 
Dates for the Lifeguard Certification Course are as follows (attendance at all dates is mandatory):
  • Saturday & Sunday, June 1 & 2 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Monday, June 3 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday & Thursday, June 4 & 6 from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m.
  • Friday, June 7 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
