Event Description:
Transportation and housing can provide significant barriers
to employment for some employees. However, there are innovative
solutions being put into action by many employers in our community.
This group of industry leaders will provide insight into the unique
solutions that they have implemented to solve challenges
surrounding workforce transportation and housing.

Neal Glaeser, Denali Ingredients
Denali ingredients has collaborated with the Joseph Project, as well as other New Berlin businesses, to provide transportation solutions for employees living in the Milwaukee area. 

Sam Smith, Capri Senior Communities
Capri Senior Communities has partnered with Uber to implement a cost-sharing transportation program for employees.

Pat Henderson, Quad
Quad has expanded its current ride-share program for those who lack reliable and affordable transportation.

Kurt Paulsen, Department of Urban Planning and Landscape Architecture, University of Wisconsin- Madison
Kurt has authored two Dane County housing needs assessments, chaired the City of Middleton Workforce Housing Committee, and has consulted for the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA).

Mike Welsh, Wisconsin Economic Development Association
Mike will provide an update on current and future legislation surrounding workforce housing.

Directions:
Sussex is about a half-hour drive west of
Milwaukee in Waukesha County, Wis. From
Milwaukee or Madison, take Interstate 94
East or West to Exit 295. Travel north on
County Hwy. F, which turns into Wisconsin
Hwy. 74, into Sussex. Turn right onto County
VV (Silver Spring Drive). Go over the railroad
tracks and turn left on Harry’s Way into the
plant property. The front entrance is located
at the tall orange sculpture.
