HAWS' Season of Celebration

November 10, 2015
HAWS, the Humane Animal Welfare Society of Waukesha County, celebrates the start of the  holiday season and an adoption milestone in November!

The Friends of HAWS Holiday Bazaar kicks off the shopping season on Saturday, November 7th from 9am-3pm. Browse hand-crafted gifts and home-made treats, special edition collectibles (from Harley-Davidson, NASCAR, Coca Cola), a large selection of gently used crates and pet habitats and more. Come early for the best selection…and stay for lunch, too!

Holiday Pet Photos will be taken at HAWS the weekend of November 14th-15th. Portraits are by appointment only – please call 262-542-8851 to reserve. A number of packages are available!
HAWS’ Behavior Department invites everyone to celebrate the adoption of 1,000 Mod Squad dog at the Mod Squad 1,000th Grad Party on Thursday, November 19th from 5-7pm. Learn more about this life-saving program, meet those who are making it work and witness the unveiling of the Mod Squad alumni paw print mural! Launched in 2009, HAWS’ Mod Squad program is the in-house training and behavior modification program for shelter dogs that might otherwise be deemed “unadoptable.” For details and to RSVP, contact Behavior Department Manager Leann Boucha at leann@hawspets.org or 262-542-8851.

Learn how to use specific gentle touches to help release tension in stressful situations for your rabbit, guinea pig or other small pet at Ttouch for Little Critters on Saturday, November 21st. Class fee is $20 for adults, $12 for children under 16 (must attend with adult). Pre-registration is required at hawspets.org or 262.542.8851.

Regular events include “pet”-icures, a full slate of pet training classes, great Mobile Adoption visits, the Friends of HAWS’ monthly meeting and a GPA greyhound meet’n’greet.
