Public meeting for WIS 190 Corridor Study in Waukesha County

July 07, 2015
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Southeast Region is announcing the third public involvement meeting to discuss the WIS 190 (Capitol Drive) corridor study that extends from WIS 16 to Brookfield Road in Waukesha County.  The informal, open house meeting will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at Pewaukee City Hall (council chambers), N240 N3065 Pewaukee Road.  The council chambers entrance is at the rear of the building.

The purpose of the study is to develop a long range plan for improving traffic flow and safety on Capitol Drive. The study has identified preferred long term improvements along the WIS 190 corridor based on an analysis of the state and local transportation systems, environmental resources, access points and intersections, bicycle and pedestrian accommodations, and surrounding land uses.  Recommended improvements include widening Capitol Drive from four to six lanes, adding traffic signals at the WIS 16 westbound ramps, upgrading signalized intersections, constructing an innovative echelon intersection at WIS 164, and reconstructing the interchange at County F/WIS 74. The interchange at County F/WIS 74 is scheduled for reconstruction in 2018. There is no schedule for construction of any other recommended improvements.

The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input and ask questions concerning the proposed preferred improvements.  Interested persons may stop in anytime between 4 and 7 p.m. to review the displays, visit with the project team and share comments or concerns.

The meeting facility is wheelchair accessible.  Persons who want to request a sign language interpreter should contact Brian DeNeve via the Wisconsin Telecommunication Relay System (dial 711).  To allow time for arranging assistance, please call no later than three working days prior to the meeting.

If you are unable to attend the meeting, or would like more information, please contact Project Manager Debra Tarnow at (262) 548-8794 or by email at debra.tarnow@dot.wi.gov. Written comments regarding the study can be mailed to Debra Tarnow, WisDOT, P.O. Box 798, Waukesha WI 53187.
