Vrakas Promotes Three to Shareholder Status
Michael J. Hall, CPA – Mike has been with the firm since 2004 having spent 16 years in the tax department. Mike specializes in providing consulting and tax services to small to medium size privately-held businesses and their owners (including a focus on ESOP-owned companies), with an expertise in the manufacturing, trucking and commercial real estate industries. A UW-Whitewater alum, Mike also interned with the firm before coming on full-time. He credits much of his success to being motivated to help his clients by proactively providing them with real time information and the detailed tax advice they need to make sound business decisions. We’re excited to have Mike on the team representing the Tax department.
Mary Ellen Michaelson, CPA – Mary Ellen has been with the firm since 1999 having spent 21 years in the tax department. The past few years, Mary Ellen has also taken an active role in developing and growing the firm's Small Business Accounting (SBA) department. As part of her new role as Shareholder, Mary Ellen will take on additional responsibilities as a leader of the SBA department leveraging her payroll knowledge and QuickBooks experience. Mary Ellen will also continue to provide consulting and tax services utilizing her expertise in privately-held businesses, not-for-profits and real estate partnerships. A UW-Milwaukee alum, Mary Ellen also interned with the firm before joining full-time. She credits her success to her focus to find the best possible solutions for her clients in a timely manner based on their specific situation and goals. We are excited to have Mary Ellen on the team representing the Tax and SBA departments.
Scott M. Syrjala, CPA – Scott has been with the firm since 2009 having spent 11 years in the tax department. Scott joined the firm after spending the early part of his career at another public accounting firm after graduating from UW- Eau Claire. Scott specializes in providing tax planning, compliance and research support to privately-held businesses and their owners in the construction, manufacturing, service and retail industries. In addition to providing client services, Scott also assists with the development and training of department staff and plays an active role in the firm's business development area. He credits his success to his strong client relationships. His service approach is focused on his client's goals, attentive to their needs and consistent in delivering the highest level of client service.
